Getting dry

Anyone else think it's getting a bit dry? No rain for weeks, ground cracking, and no rain forecast.

What ! Only just finished spring drilling last week, all land drains still running and we’ve had 39mm for April.
it can stay dry for a few more weeks thank you.

We have 30cm of topsoil , not 30ft to store water
Soil here is graded according to the depth of the impermeable horizon, typically 30cm

Inch in may, inch in June and that will be more than adequate. We have this thread every spring.

No April has been horrible 80mm and really cold worst of the year so far . The last week has been better but the damage is done to spring crops newly sown

Not going well for you at all. Last spring was to dry and hit spring crops further north hard, now to wet.
