Holy sh!t will erupt in this country if we get a drought yearSeen irrigation underway on winter barley here in Norfolk.
Jammy buggerRained hard again after breakfast time. Should do the spring crops some good .
Is that actually cost effective? Water constraints in that area mean high value crops only I would have thought.Seen irrigation underway on winter barley here in Norfolk.
Most probably water going onto a malting barley ,could be very valuable come harvest ?Holy sh!t will erupt in this country if we get a drought year
Nahh we just import it you see ...... !Holy sh!t will erupt in this country if we get a drought year
Several around me who have water are putting it into cereals, and even spring sown crops to get them going. Is that actually cost effective? Water constraints in that area mean high value crops only I would have thought.
I don't think the show Is over here yet, winter barley is now looking stressed but spring barley looks very well, beet are doing ok and I still have high hopes for the wheats.I've tried to ignore this thread but things are getting miserable here (crops- not just me)
That long.... lucky sod!Had a bit , should last until tuesday
Chatting with a neighbour this morning... his attitude was that wheat at 300/t and the fert on already, it's cost effective to water. Saw 2 irrigators earlier in the week on wheatIs that actually cost effective? Water constraints in that area mean high value crops only I would have thought.
Thought the malting job was less exciting since it has become difficult to export... Heard of malting grade being sold for feed this week! Most probably water going onto a malting barley ,could be very valuable come harvest ?
