So do you put your fertiliser on and then 'incorporate ' with the drilling process or do you put it down the tube alongside the seed with a dual hopper type drill. It is so interesting to learn from others how things are done differently in other parts of the country. Always provides food for thought.
My father put fert on top after drilling, but one year in the 80,s it didnt rain till june and the crop was a disaster. It started tillering in june. Was just light rubbish.
We bought a mf 30 combine drill after that, and put down the spout till big bags stopped that and since then i put it on the ploughing, half of it at least
Rest goes on at emergence.

No meaningful rain since 10th April nothing in the 10 day forecast, and crops not looking quite as dark green as you’d want.
So yesterday we removed the 40 year old felt off the flat roof at the back of the house. By 1pm we were hoovering out the last of the debris over the old plasterboard. By 2pm it was soaked with a cloudburst.
Never been so happy to have a job ruined in my life, 9mm by the end of the second downpour.

Linseed planted and rolled yesterday, 1/2" steady rain today. Perfect.
Slightly less perfect was trimming the green end of 150 ewes in 1/2" of steady rain today, but no staff available rest of week... Not complaining, really welcome soak.
