Getting field data to the agronomist

Thank you. I assume that you have Gatekeeper? I'm not sure my agronomist does but he will confirm either way I'm sure. If he doesn't, I can still get him the app for his phone on my own account. I may have to get him set up & help him get the data before he sets off - he's of the old school type who doesn't do much via email, so the tech is going to take a few goes...!

I spoke to Nick W this afternoon to see how he gets on with it. He is happy with the app.
Mmm. I’m paying about £5.50/ac for agronomy. Cassandra comes fully equipped with gatekeeper software, it works a treat.

Think we have the same agronomist. Good luck!

@Brisel I know you said you don’t want to change but I honestly think you’d have to go a long way to beet muddy boots GLGM!
Can access from any device or location inputs and alterations are instant across all terminals, I generally use an iPad in the sprayer but can just as easy use my phone.
I usually crop walk with my agronomist then he emails me his recommendation. I then shop round for best price and order chem, put it into my stock in GLGM and my agronomist does the rec with what I’ve bought.
It makes adjustments really easy as well, he can adjust or create plans while I’m on the phone to him and see them instantly at my end. As each job is done it automatically amends my stock etc as well. Same can be done for fert and seed and I’m pretty sure you can even do jobs for cultivation work etc.
I looked at gatekeeper a few years ago and there system just seemed so dated and over complicated the cost was also extortionate!

I’ve moved to muddy boots from gatekeeper which I hated.
It’s good but some really annoying issues with it that would not take them much to fix at all. New updates seem to be coming quickly at the moment though. Overall pleased with it.
If gatekeeper came out with something with all the features it has now, but in a user friendly, cloud based, good app etc I would go back to it, but at the moment it just makes me want to cry when I use it.

Still can’t put other crop receipts (straw-valuable in our part of the world) into gross margin reports. Been promised it for the last two years and was part of muddy boots 15 years ago!

Don't use any of this software. But could you transfer it onto a cheap tablet, agronimist pick it up when he starts and drop it into the office when he finishes.

Or store copy of data and give the agronomist access to shared cloud such as One Drive or Drop Box?

I'd still have to generate the files for every field and save them somewhere. At the moment, that would be a field by field report of all operations & products.

Agreed Phil, same here. IPad in sprayer links with IPhone and Desktop all in real time. 👍👍

Another vote for MB GLGM. Really good and intuitive. I use Omnia and the app for field spotting and can share with any of my staff or the agronomist, contractor etc. - even direct people to the correct gateway. Mapped all the covers and environmental schemes etc.
