Getting on top of mastitis

It's always the case il use some good tunes like tetra delta and if they don't use then il use somet stronger like ubro and if it's as bad as E. coli straight onto the hard stuff betamox metacam marbocyl etc...although allamycin into the teat works well aswell..
Do you not use Norodine24 for e coli? We had our first case of ecoli for nearly a decade this summer, saved the cow by using Norodine, but sadly she will be 3/4 by her next lactation.

Simple we're a easy target as always! Who's going to go after GP's.....

Where I do agree to you to a point at least GPs prescribe licenced drugs for the correct condition. In the example I picked out he was taking it upon himself to use an unlicensed product and administering it in a way it was not designed to be administered.
Also a GP prescribes to just one person and the drug has no way of entering the food chain, whereas traces of antibiotics used in agriculture are always going to filter through to the general public even following the strictest withdrawal periods.

Alamycin is not a suitable formulation to infuse into the teat - it's very irritant.

Interesting, I remember the old Terramycin metal tubes & the plastic clamp to squeeze the tube right out. Not used them for maybe 30 years

We recently had some bacteriological tests done, mainly showing E. coli, the recommendation was for Ubro Yellow + Engemycin injections.
We are loose housed so environment is challenging
Will see how it goes but recent mastitis outbreak coincided with using outside stored round bales rather than sheeted square bales. I also went back to pre-foaming with iodine - I hadn't done this since last winter - but it has helped enormously, well worth the extra time it takes.
A year ago we changed vets, we used to use Cobactan, Tylan & Duphamox. Now we use more Ubro Yellow, Pen Strep & now Engemycin also we are now using Ubro Red as well as Cephagard & Cepravin that we used before. All with teat sealant of course. I'm not brave enough to use teat sealant alone but no doubt will have too, sooner rather than later.
I've never used Marbocyl personally but our new vets have after Caesarians for example

Ubrolexin has become my main mastitis tube of choice. Seems to be broad spectrum, even for ecoli.
And yes im guilty of having a bottle of Marbocyl in my drugs arsenal, ready for that rare ecoli case. I use it because i know it works.

Same here. As for ecoli anything else never seems to do the job ie get the cow back producing plenty of milk
