agreement was as always 28days from invoice

Sell it pre harvest per acre. No access until funds clear.

i think i will have to put anything i want to sell through auctions in the future - I guess they take payment from buyers up front ?

I could run you a list up with straw dealers not paying and one on here too with dodgy weighbridge tickets , probably gone bust anyway so I wouldn’t worry too much

I had similar, it took a word in the right ear for it to get sorted.

Oh and other debts seemed to clear up as soon as I asked about collecting them on here. So perhaps you've just sorted the issue.

I can assure you that bad payers come in a walks of life , so please don't pick on one fraction , I have weeded a lot out over the years but still get cought from time to time
I can only assuming that the farmer or farmers he took it to have not yet payed him so cash flow problems , but that's not your problem
My personal view ATM is that money is tight with everyone , or an awaful lot more than it was

Simple - don’t sell your straw

it’s far more valuable in your field / on your soil, than the few measly £££ you might get for it

PS - take it from a long term zero tiller ( my whole farming career of 35 years or so ), you won’t get DD / zero till to work
properly until you retain all your straw

it just does my head in the way you lot have to remove all the residue off your fields as if it’s a bad thing. A few £££ doesn’t even begin to compensate for what you are missing out on by not keeping it . . .

I always pay before leaving straw/grass/fodder/cattle/machinery auctions. I might be known for wanting to pay as little as i can but i pay, non of this i forgot my cheque book s.hite. No point accepting a fantastic price if you dont get paid either, sell it to those that pay.

Payment before loading and then payment before unloading simple.
