Are the livestock farmers going to plead poverty again and then end up with a load of self righteous arable farmers making videos of themselves on twitter next to bales saying it’s for charity (when they are still getting paid for it).

I sympathise with @Clive I have had similar problems in the past with moorland farmers buying silage. I only ever reckon to get bitten once, life is so much better now that I refuse to sell to any moorland farmer 👍 (I might make an exception for @egbert cos he seems decent and knows some Albanians 🤣🤣)
I’ve heard all the payment excuses (did 20 years in the ag supply trade) only got properly shafted once ……..
so that's tarred all moorland farmers with the same bush and you only excluded @egbert cos your frightened of Albanians :giggle:

Here we go again another sycophantic Clive thread .poor Clive hasn't been paid , we'll join the bloody club. You're not the only one.
7 pages 125 posts why ?????

I pay my bills on time, I expect others to do the same

If they don't I will not deal with them in the future

simple and not unreasonable

125 post ? well its seems i'm not alone in getting paid 5 months late for straw maybe ?

I take it you had something in writing regarding amount payable around
the time of the deal?Send him another invoice 'Final demand' recorded delivery.
I'm afraid I now work on money up front on straw because some people
have selective memories or moan if the deal goes against them.
Grain sales will also have to be watched as the markets become more volatile.

It's still extremely sycophantic almost all your posts generate a disproportionate response because it's you .
Anyone else moaning about not being paid wouldn't get any thing like the response.
I really don't see why folks feel the need to feed your ego .

I had never heard that word before, sycophantic, so I looked it up, it's someone who tries to win favour from wealthy people. I'm not maybe that bright but I'd think the straw merchant isn't overly wealthy as for anyone on here, I don't care what their circumstances are, I think anyone should be able to post whatever they want within reason.

I suppose the straw merchant could have a wealth of straw 🤔

In fact, it's the moorland cowboys are the real loons!

(We do quite a bit of nefarious doin's with a former Romanian cage fighter as it goes...but he's a pussy cat compared to some of the bruisers out over the veldt)

Boo hoo. Stop whining and actually do something about it, just the same as your suppliers do.

?? My supplier don't have to do anything - I pay my bills on-time, i expect the same from others

Are you seriously suggesting its OKM and acceptable to pay your bills 5 month late ?

We have been doing plenty about it chasing the debt (a complete waste of everyones time). and I will only be selling straw via auction in the future with payment up front ...... lesson learnt

I'm asking a question like any other TFF member can - I force no-one to reply

I appreciate the responses, especially the helpful ones

Phone the man and cut the price in half if he pays now
Why give profit to meathead debt collectors
Every man and his dog jumped in this yr
Why ?No one forced him to buy the straw it
was a business decision at the time like everything
else .As long as the dealer is solvent and has assets
and there is evidence of the deal then Clive has everything
to gain from going after the full amount .
Clive might have shown to be naive at selling straw but in this instance he should
be paid the agreed amount in full.
