At least they were advertised. I sent in details and pictures of my tub mixer to Lodge and Thomas for their collective sale aanndd....not listed

Someone's getting a thick ear on Monday!!:mad:

Currently thinking of staying as we are this winter and then reevaluate again. We have just reformulated the cow diet with Jo Scammel's help and cows are immediately more comfortable. That wouldn't be as easy with a box or blocks in the passage.

What have you altered in the diet. And what do you mean by more comfortable.

Reduced rape and urea, put in some soya and sugar beet. Added iodised salt and dolomitic lime instead of straight salt and lime.

Cows swishing tails much less (there were few flies and they were making themselves mucky). They are also now lying better and more comfortably. It seems clear that we had a sub-acute acidosis problem.

We had a slight milk dip but now recovered although protein has dropped slightly. I am hoping they will continue to improve from here.

My new feeder wagon is working great. 5 minutes with a picket knife and in for breakfast.

Won't be so great on Christmas morning when I come out and find them all asleep up on top of the sheet.

Do you not land up with a lot of dirty water to deal with @Beef farmer
Yeah loads. Swingers are hopefully being delivered up next Monday, 3500000 gallon lagoon, all the ground is there for umbilical, so use it to grow grass Feb onwards. Was Thinking of putting another rota Rainer in, but it's ball ache, and the umbilical boys will pump all of our extra water that we store for a couple of k. No risk and easy. Also utilised. The rota Rainer at home goes for a bit every day, no one likes moving it, and it often gets forgotten about. Next spring will divert all effluent at home into slurry pit, so it's there for the umbilical

How many hours a day do you have to run the rota Rainer? NC pulse jet would probably only need moving every few weeks on your light land
