Over the years had people give us the odd hammer a spade and plenty of nails and Staples when people have down sized and left the village but the other week got given these a little grease gun which is good for getting at the hard to reach nipples and 2small socket sets that fit nicely in a tractor tool box.

I was given a full sized blacksmith's anvil with it's own cast steel stand , about 5 cwt of Stubbs welding rods and the cabinet they sat in from a local workshop that was closing down . I could also have had a great big radial arm drill at the same time , but my workshop wasn't big enough to hold it , and in any case , at the time I had nothing heavy enough to lift it , but I've always regretted that . If I'd been bothered enough , I'm sure I could have managed something .

These folks have a store in the corner of our barn where they keep stuff while it is waiting to be refurbished at their workshop. It goes out to Africa as starter kits for folks wanting to start small busineses. They seem to shift an awful lot of stuff, with lots being donated by old boys who are retiring or by widows who want to give their husband's tools a good home. I often buy things from them as some of our electrical gear is not suitable for Africa but they are glad of donations instead. I'm sure other similar charities are operating around the country.
