1. Farmers, growers, processors and industry representatives are being asked for their views from 31 August for 10 weeks on the role of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).

The AHDB is a UK statutory levy board, funded by farmers, growers and others in the supply chain. As we leave the EU, there is an opportunity to ensure that the sectors that the AHDB covers are as competitive as possible. This review will look at the AHDB’s purpose and priorities, its strengths and where improvements need to be made.

This is a joint 10-week exercise covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The request for views will close on 9 November.

I found the stitches pulling the worst bit, and the hair regrowth!!

It was uncomfortable to lay down on my side for a while, as it would pull the stitches. Not painful per se, just very unpleasant.

    All good now, though (y)

Thinking of going for it myself; but having to take 3-7 days off is not going to be easy.

Every churchyard in this once great country of ours is full of indispensable people. Stop making excuses and bite the bullet!

I had my wedding on the few days of the year I knew was a quiet time for spraying..
I went to see the doctor about getting the snip in the February - hoping for a convenient time and mid August they came up with

Only a desk job, but after the snip the previous afternoon I was back at work the next day, having driven there, all with no issues.

Are you the only doctor that can cure cancer or something? You must be pretty indispensable if you can’t spare a few days...

Just get on with it! :)

Hold on a minute!! There’s indispensable and there’s working for free!! I’m the latter, if I have to pay someone to cover for me, it just gets too much, or as others say, maybe bump into the summer?
    What exactly is heavy lifting?
    Attaching machinery, ptos?
Or are we talking lifting calves!???
    Could I milk?
Jez, this is just another “kick in the balls” how cushy those tillage lads have it!

I cant figger how even heavy lifting could interfere with or split the 2 or 3 stitches in the scrotum, the only issue I found was the bloody vicious brass zip on me quite-tight(in the circumstances) Wrangler jeans.
Well unless heavy lifting was sommat like lifting land stones i.e. cradled against the groin.

I don't think it's the couple of stitches that's the issue, I'd say it's more to do with bruising and pulling on the tubes

You are not going to burst stitches but just potter about for at least 2 days to reduce the risk of bleeding. A scrotum like a large grapefruit for 4 weeks is no fun, especially if it then needs opened again.

Had it done a few months back, was worse than I thought pain wise, spoke to a few folk that had it done and they said it was a piece of cake.
The pain I got when he pulled the tubes out to cut them was like a kick in the nuts, that’s the docs words to describe it,not mine!! But I would agree with him. After two days I was fine.
