Currently looking at biomass boilers and Gilles woodchip boilers in particular.
I have been told they are very well made and thus reliable. They are Austrian after all!
Does anybody have any experience of them?

@dragonfly They are well made, although quite expensive and quite difficult to get spares etc for them, what sizes are you looking at ? what fuel type ( gilles like very dry chip !! ) and are fussy. happy to look and discuss.

Had one here, gave a lot of grief when I tried to feed it the wrong grub (ie smashed pallets, not proper woodchip), but once I stopped being mean and got some decent chips it never missed a beat. We've extended our system so have bought a bigger machine, would have bought another gillies, but the bigger one wouldn't fit in the shed.
Did I mention old Gillies (145kW) is for sale? Very cheap, very good value...

It is jolly efficient...just second hand. Thus all but worthless. This is the downside of generous subsidies that only allow new machines.

We recommend them because they are the best out there, and that is why they are all we fit.

We are not the only installers who do, was just merely getting the word out there about ETA.

ETA boilers are slightly more expensive than other makes but you are paying for the quality - and with such a big investment, quality pays off, rather than going for the cheapest and been let down!

ETA the best boiler? The largest they do is a 500kWth, the world class boilers are in the MWth bracket.

We would describe an ETA boiler as a middle of road, solid option. They are not great at dealing with varying fuel qualities and moistures.
