Gilts management

If you send a gilt for slaughter after weaning the first litter, it must have been a deficit business.
It may have it even if it gets two litters. It is probably only after weaning the third litter that it contributes positively to the farm economy.
With a replacement percentage around or above 50 percent .some sows are only able to pull down the economy.
We know that all sows do not have the potential to get six litters, but it is a good idea to look at the percentage that achieves, for example, three litters and six litters.

SIX FACTORS WITH MEANING OF SUSTAINABILITY

The following are six factors, among others:
* Good space in the path - preferably double up compared to slaughter pigs
* Moderate feeding - forget about ad lib
* Frequent contact with people - makes them easier to socialize later
* Thorough socialization - learn about ranking
* Pregnancy trails where young sows are not canopied by older sows
* In addition, with a rapid change in the sow holding, there is also a tendency for lower immunity in the sow holding. This may, for example, be expressed in more diarrhea in the farrowing barn
Overall, there are good arguments for making lakes last a little longer. One goal could be that two-thirds of the sows reach at least three litters.
