Gin key removal wedge

I’m currently replacing a bearing on a Class baler roller. I need to remove the sprocket on the end of the shaft and looking to buy a Gib key tapered drift. I borrowed one from a local mechanic a few years ago but have never seen one for sale. Anybody know where i could buy one? TIA. J

Bought the one I have here from a Claas dealer, I was surprised at how cheap it was at the time from a main dealer.
These two seen a lot of action many moons ago, I used to service eleven Claas balers at one point here, their ferocious appetite for bearings was just one of the reasons that saw their demise round these parts, I know of just one here locally now within a ten mile radius.

I went shopping this morning. Local dealer (W&A Geddes) had a plenty straight wedges in stock, no curved ones, but there’s plenty of space to get the straight one in. Only £18 too, cheap of it works!

I think that’s been their downfall in all areas. You were unlikely to see anything Other than a 46 around here 15 years ago. McHale seem to have taken over these days

What’s the lump of bar with a Claas sticker on it. Is that for hitting the wedge?

ach just a pipe with a heavy cap on it for driving most of the sprockets on a bit before id put the drift on to pull the key, it would brake the joint somewhere at least and would leave the key easier to pull, times the key stayed where it was and you could snip it out with a podger bar.
after that it was used for anything that unfortunately would require a beating.

i went for the curved drift as id say youl find the straight one isnt just an all rounder the way its shaped.

She’s out! I put a shifter on it to make sure the wedge didn’t slip out as I have damaged the key by trying to remove it last night using my morse taper drift. Need the pullers for the sprocket yet as it’s a tight fit. Thanks for the help.
