Hats are allways useful as are pens.

A rep from a new company came to introduce himself a while back and left a mug with his card in it which I thought was a nice way of introducing himself.

I suspect in days long before Charlie Flindt wrote in the farmers weekly the Abertay ad was the first thing a lot of farmers looked at.

Gentian blue is smart. Last car was dark blue.

I heard once that a big Devon Arable operator ( several thousand acres) bought 30 brand new MF tractors in the mid 60's and the dealer threw in one for free.

(Mind you, they would have got their money back quite quickly relining the dodgy brakes on the MF 65's)

Well if he paid full price for the other 29 then it’s “only” equivalent to just over 3% discount......

When I worked as a farm manager for a family that had a business unloading ships, they ordered a dozen JCB robot skidsteers for unloading the cargo holds.
When a robot turned up on the farm I was told the dealer had thrown it in as a sweetener!

Any really nice pens I was ever given seemed to come with just enough ink to write the cheque for first order.
