We used Wyevale Nurseries by Hereford. there is a list of trees that you are allowed to plant and if you speak to them they will work out how many of each variety you need. I found them very helpful.

Are they cheaper than the nurseries? Have you done any hedge planting with glastir?

£50 for 210 trees is pretty good. Otherwise ty rhos trees can put a bundle together for you.

Not planted anything in glastir but have for Tir Gofal and my own pleasure. To be honest I find 80% quickthorn with a few blackthorns and hazels good enough. Quickthorn can be quite cheap

Glastir (depending on who you talk to - and your contract) requires 5 different varieties and up to 75% can be a mixture of thorn. Talked to few different people in welsh office who are supposed to know the answers and they just say "read the book" but when you look for more clarification they are pretty useless and you get pushed from one person to another.
Also check that you get the right size trees as they have to be certain height by the end of 3 or 5 years. One of the head honchos re Glastir said to make sure you get your 7 trees to the metre as they are most likely to measure. He understood that 7 trees to the metre was too many and agreed with the tree nursery people but the "book" says 7 so 7 it must be!! MAdness
