I have a field to dd wheat after 2 year ley this Autumn I plan to harvest grass first week in sept. Last year I waited to glyphosate for fresh growth but it lost me time and we had Durban then it was a kind autumn and it looks good now but if I sprayed it standing then harvested then drilled the next day would this work and how long would I need between spray and harvest

I usually do this for our forage rape gains me a week in growth I cut after 7 days bale line bales up then dd rape.i also use a high water vol as in middle of June some of the grass is laid
This will be 3rd cut so won't be too thick but should keep moisture in soil. What drill you using?

Can't you kill the ryegrass in the wheat effectively ?

We've dd wheat after 2 year grass leys for the first time last autumn. Glyphosate standing grass and then mowed a few days later for 3rd cut bales. Worked very well.

I seem to remember the label rec is for 5 days between glyphosate and mowing. The grass will be half wilted standing up, with sugars concentrated in the leaves. I seem to remember reading that there are only certain glyphosate products that you are allowed to use. If it's not on the label as a rec, then I guess you can't/shouldn't?
