Glyphosate on Amazon

May be a bit behind the times here but just realised that anyone can buy professional grade glyphosate 360 etc in up to 20l drums ,same as we use on farm. Apparently it gets delivered by normal couriers!
Makes a mockery of all the hoops we have to jump through to use chemicals on farm..........
With all the controversy surrounding glyphosate surely the powers that be need to stamp this out ?..... Or does it help reinforce the case that the stuff is so harmless that it is safe for anybody to transport store and use?

Or Brazil nuts?
Brazil nuts are indeed radioactive to a pretty high degree compared to background levels, I was pretty surprised when I found out. I saw a demonstration of this once and the demonstrator told us that a truck load of brazil nuts going past any of our UK reactors would, literally, set the alarm bells ringing - although am not entirely sure if that is true or was a wind up.

It is true that they are radioactive [which is why I named them] and that eating a few kilos of them in a day would result in similar levels of radiation dose to a chest X-ray. In absolute terms it is nothing to worry about, although no doubt if this was widely broadcast it would result in Brazil nuts being banned outright. Such is our culture these days. On the other hand they are 'natural' so it must be alright.

They mentioned them on the food program on Friday night. They guy said, to receive a harmful dose of radiation you would need to eat 25,000. I suppose if you tried eating 25,000 Brazil nuts you would die long before of something else!

Actually Brazil nuts are absolutely lethal. They grow in pods in trees up to 50 metres high. The pods weigh up to 10 kg. If they fall on you, you are dead!
I have seeen a tree in Cuba, the ground was littered with nuts, but nobody was stupid enough to go and pick them up

Just like a good lungful of 'natural' radon?

The amount of comfrey you would need to eat to give you a slightly elevated risk of contracting a liver problem is also so high that it would be impossible to eat enough, but it has been banned for human consumption for many years in a large number of countries. I still eat it regularly.
