Go power

All depends what they're paying and how long the contract. The best you can do is change every year to someone different and take the best offer. With the sem changing to isem in Oct powerni price dropped 1.7p. I rather have a fixed price but powerni don't offer that. If you can get 5.5p for 12 months I'd go for it

Might be worth you having a chat with the greenyard, always been very helpful when I've spoken to them. They have a good idea whats about and might be able to get you a better deal, market has definitely moved up, I'd want more than 5.5p.

Have a word with Roger or Sean at the Greenyard, I know they work on deals so wouldn't want to just put info out there. Earlier in the year they got us more than that, and the market has only gone up since.

What’s this for, wind AD or solar? I just moved to Power NI, also been with Vayu who were also v good

I would be hoping for a good bit more than 5.5 but depends on your technology

Yes you are right, no more SMP since I-sem kicked in in October, but in general prices been very high all year. Are you on a variable rate at the moment?

Yes fixed with Power NI, had fixed offers from 4 other suppliers as well. AD is quite attractive to them as it is more or less constant output 24/7/365.

IN saying that, my variable PPA was rocketing just as I left Vayu (due to ever increasing SMP) and I am now on less money fixed with Power NI, but I decided I wanted some certainty during the implementation of I-SEM for the 12 months or so until things settle down.

I will probably look for a variable PPA then which enters my power into one of the new markets created under I-SEM, but would prefer to do so once there is some historic data to base my decision on.
