We fall into that catagory. Even less on the secondary tractor but the T7 will average 550 hours per year usually. It works for us, to change it while it’s still fresh, say every 5 years if the deal is right.
Me too,2 small kubotas deere 7710 and 6620 and jcb 531/70 probably do less than 250 hours a year between them.all work more than I paid for em too

Please don't shout at me but .......
Bought a JD 6630 6yrs ago its a 2010 plate the tractor hasn't depreciated at all...in fact its worth more now than when I bought it . .
...and I don't really look after it !

...I know that's not the general but just thought it interesting to say .

Your tractor might be "worth" more than you paid for it but that is because cash is "worth" less than it was when you bought it.

Compare the value of your tractor against the value of an equivalent 6 year old tractor today with the same hours as you bought to get a true comparison.

And when the time comes, can you replace it “like for like but newer” without having to add extra funds 🤔🥴🤦🏻‍♂️

I worked out the cost of running my 2.5 ton digger a few months back and I know im on white diesel but the cost an hour is very close to the figure quoted at start of the post.this machine cost would be early mid £30k today but can run it all year round.a 150 hp tractor needs to be around £70 hour but too many under cutting this rate.

Since you've been on white has your digger been better on fuel someone around here said there mini digger was using alot less on white?

Can’t really say I’ve noticed.just keep topping it up.sometimes my machine may only run for half hour a day and other days May clock 8/9.no two days are ever the same really but I’ll try to check now you mentioned it

Had a lad carting silage for us through a contractor, just bought a new £98k tractor. He was doing it for £30 an hour. I thought it seemed cheap by the time he actually earned a wage out of it and had running costs.
At that money better to leave your own in the shed and get him to do your work 🙈
