Going rate for tack sheep

This winter I'm paying 20p/ flat per head for permanent pasture, 50p for dairy leys (high clover and all ryegrass)
And have brought flat rate grass in at £25/acre for improved permanent grass with between 4-6inches of cover on, for the period 1st oct - 1st march.

Turned down neeps and kale at 60p as the growth rates on it make it similar to good permanent grass so not worth paying more than equivalent grass is available for.

We pay 7p a day on some land, 8p on others and 9 on others. Depends what the fencing is like, how far it is from us, how good the grass is, some of it we are grazing almost all year so slightly different then. Please don't bring scab down @roscoe erf it got bad down this way last year with so much coming down off the hills!

55p for a mixture of lambs and in lamb Welsh ewes on stubble turnips and some grass, with the owners doing all the electric fencing.

My largest winter grazing venue wants the ewes from early August to mid March ----mostly fenced , some good grass & some poorer
15p/wk and the landlord checks them too

Just thought i'd put that in to wind you guys up :p

(Pay 40p/wk other places for good grass , un-fenced but the landlord checks them for me --just to prove it ain't all roses down here ;) )

What sort of farms are offering this (other dairy)? Beef cattle only? Arable? I'm not aware of any in this area.

That's your good luck and it's how you make your low input system pay where others couldn't. Not having a go at you, just saying.. ;)

No --- all landlords know the going rate but with me they get;
Healthy stock
No tangles in brambles
Immediate payment
Immediate response to problems
Accurate records (important for compliance)
Insurance

Which they haven't always gotten in the past , they are also pragmatic and know that it has to work for both parties

A mix, good grass is all on dairy or cattle farms. The poorer ground is owned by non farming types who moved.out from the city and brought up a farm.to grow their range rovers on... the rest is a mix of arable farms small awkward fields or floodd prone land and some land rented off retired farmers.
All in North and West Yorkshire.
Tends to get cheaper in the Vale. Of York where their are less stock, more expensive in the livestock areas.
