mate said in the style of the tv progWhile they busy with potato crimes some poor barsteward is having their shed raided no
Potato harvest in full swing here too, all trucks' not tractor/trailer, all loaded to the max but still rare to see any spuds on the road..........they are a stable crop on a vehicle...................your cops are stupid for issuing a citation for that load, not very bright are they..?
Bloke reported for 5 potatoes in road
Or a road gritter!Lucky they didn’t follow a maize trailer with the stuff blowing off the top like confetti
None, and I don’t think that outfit would be within legal weight either, we all make errors of judgement and what’s to say the potatoes were from that load?So what's an acceptable amount of spuds to lose? 5? 10? 10 kgs? 100kgs? 1 tonne?
It may boil down to a lack of trust but the farmer still got a good roasting despite coming up with a half baked excuse he knew he had had his chipsSadly a good proportion of the poplulation are like this.
Happy to tell others they aren't doing the job right, but have never done or know how to do the job themselves.
It all boils down to a lack of trust.....more often than not in farmers who are perceived as being the lowest of low.
I also think it's very sad how quickly people jump straight to reporting people. No friendly chat, no discussion, no education, no chance to see a different perspective. No opportunity for anyone to learn. It's straight to detention. Just like with a school kid, all that achieves is getting peoples back up, rather than encouraging them to see a different perspective in future.
That will get you a ticket here too if the wrong cops following. A lot of the silage gangs have covers for their trucks if going any distance on major roads.Lucky they didn’t follow a maize trailer with the stuff blowing off the top like confetti
There`s been a story in the farming press suggesting beet growers may have to lead their own in to the factory . Apparently there`s a national shortage of lorry drivers (estimated at 100,000 ) in case you hadn`t heard.....That outfits been running from other side of Telford down the a5 since last week roads backed up for miles I’d suspect that there just looking for an excuse to bugger them off should be a lorry job the distance there drawing
It`s a very great shame that Mr Chris F*ckup and his celebrity mates have not felt real hunger for a good spell of time - they might appreciate certain things a bit better then....chris packup say's it.
Or a road gritter!
My dad told me a story from when he was young and after a day at a racetrack on the way out there was potato carting happening near the entrance to Oulton Park and a few potatoes had been dropped on the road. These potatoes were gathered up, and with a camping stove from the back of the car they had a meal of what tasted like the best jacket potatoes he ever had... or at least a memory that stood out and made them the best.
I think in times gone by any dropped spud would be picked up and treated like some sort of free-supper prize by anyone lucky enough to find them. I guess people were a lot poorer back then.
but there are no lorry drivers. That outfits been running from other side of Telford down the a5 since last week roads backed up for miles I’d suspect that there just looking for an excuse to bugger them off should be a lorry job the distance there drawing
