Good make of cutting disc

Any recommendation of make for steel cutting disc 9"and 4.5"

I usually use Klingspor.....but recently bought some Parweld from Amazon - £3.99 + VAT for 10, and have 44 reviews, 82% are 5*. Seemed worth a try.

I have had two 9" Klingspor discs blow and nearly take head off me. I wear a full mask and was scary.

I use the super quality discs and they are great, last long.

Won’t use anything but klingspor here, I’ve used hundreds and only ever had 1 blow !.

Another vote for the klingspor, 90% of the discs i have here are from them, ive tested the waters now and again with samples of other brands, norton, tryolit, 3m and such but i always end up going back for the kilngspor's.

in that brand ive been using the ceramic flavor in the thin 5" ones and they do last a fair bit longer than the stainless ones i used to use, i found the stainless ones lasted longer in ms but the ceramic lasts even more, dearer but i find i get more whack out of them.


as for a blowout on a disc, possible it was stored in unsuitable conditions, too low or too high a humidity, in the sunlight maybe.
i cant remember the last time i ever had one blow and I have no interest in refreshing my memory either..

Dronco Inox Special every time here. Tried Flexovit before that but found them too thick for a cutting disc and took too long to get anywhere.

Used a couple - early days but they seem ok. Will try a side by side test of one vs. Klingspor when I get chance.
