there must be some big bucks being made out of these sows!
Well, big sausages anyway - mostly in Germany where they have too many pigs still and African Swine fever has just jumped right across the country somehow to nearly France and we still import all their pigmeat without inspection whereas my sows would have to be accompanied by endless paper trails and inspections.

Cut back to 75% of contracted numbers this week apparently.
I bet that's only for purchased pigs, not their own. Also they've bought a large outdoor pig producer out. (not the one that you keep pigs for).
It's not surprising that they've been splashing the cash considering the money they've made this last year, a 9000 sow heard will cut the tax bill for certain. It's only expected to be fair that they'll prioritise their own pigs.

I contract rear outdoors for the guy who xxxxxxxxx has just brought out, been told today that I’m now only rearing to 40kg outside free range and then there off to be put in sheds in there agisters sheds in Yorkshire so I’m told. Big changes for me overnight. We knew it was coming he couldn’t carry on as he was.
