Good Quality Hot Water Pressure washer

Aye-up,

I've had a karcher machine for over 10 years and it's taught me every swear word ever invented, so I won't be having another one of those. It lasted until about 14 seconds out of warranty until it started to play up.

Any good recommendations? I would rather a British built machine where I can ring up and actually speak to somebody who knows what they're talking about rather than buy from a sales outlet.

Cheers, Pete.

Sounds like my nilfisk. Would not recommend.

I suppose it is.
pulled it out of the shed after not using it for a fair few weeks and low and behold the hot water does not work, again. Will it do only cold? Yes but only after walking back to it and switching to cold.

I've got a hot water 3 phase from a company called IRTs engineering based in Dunstable, Beds. They do single phase too. I've had a couple of niggles with it over about 10 years, but my neighbour has bought a newer one and they have improved them. Good family firm, and usually there is someone who can trouble shoot a problem over the phone.

Cr@p website though!

Do they all have the not very robust alloy housed Interpump style pumps, with the silly ceramic pistons now? They won't withstand any grit, or running dry, etc.
I have an old Warwick cold washer, and it is 10 times better made.

Nixon hot washer here, and a Nilfisk cold washer. Can't fault either.

Certainly wouldn't ever have a Karcher.

Kranzle are supposedly one of premium brands.

Cleanwell seems to get plenty of votes so far. Sounds like MAC Avant is pretty popular and can't be bad at all if it can keep up with @ColinV6. I think @Robert K has a Nixon IIRC.

I thought Nixon used to have a good following on here? What was the brand with the red casing, aren't those made in Devon?

Did you mean Dirt Driver? They are Somerset.

Or Erhle but clearly they are German.

Also have a Nixon hot water pressure washer here (has alot of use and keeps going)

Highly recommend them and backup from Nixon's is first class.

Karcher are expensive to buy IMO and full of electrical bits and pieces that don't like getting wet.

We also run a Stihl as a general go anywhere pressure washer and that is equally as good as the Nixon.

Are Stihl made by Nilfisk? I thought the smaller ones were at least.

We have had two Karcher which were absolutely crap, we then thought buying a Kranzle would give us good European engineering, oh boy what a mistake!!!

Mac Drop 100 has been by far the best we have had and because it's british any wearing parts have been easy to get and fit unlike the Karcher or Kranzle.

The Drop 100 is the peasant's equivalent to the Avant. :)

Go and visit your nearest new Holland dealer and see what they use. Will probably be used every day washing tractors and equipment before going into the workshop. Other dealers are available, but we all know New Holland‘s leak oil for fun, so the hot wash will get a lot of use. :)
