Google Chrome and Quotes

I've just swapped from Firefox to Chrome as the new Firefox seems to eat resources.

When reading a post, if there is a quote in a post and I want to jump back and see the original post there's the little arrow in the quote you can click. For some reason, when using Chrome this arrow doesn't work. The address bar URL updates, but the page doesn't scroll up to that post.

Is there a setting somewhere I need to tweak?

Do you use Firefox? How do you find the new Quantum? It’s made mine unusable.
Firefox is just a backup browser really. I used to use it a lot till safari allowed adblockers. I actually stopped using because it became very resource heavy and the fans would start spinning soon after opening it. Not familiar with quantum, my version is aurora (developer edition). Don't use it enough to know if it's good or bad but it doesn't spin the fans. It gets updated every time I use it (I think they do almost daily releases).

The new Firefox works ok here.. I factory reset the laptop so it's back on Windows 7 only matter of time til it's on 10.

But the new Firefox doesn't feel the same somehow.

Thought it was just me... The Help forum and FAQ are very dismissive about complaints and grumbles, essentially suggesting that change is good, folks who don't want a new FF are Luddites! Well, that was my reading...

I did a hell of a lot of tweaking to make FF usable again, but for me, the worst thing about the change (Update??) was all the Bookmarks disappearing along with all the UI tweaks. Toolbars moved and removed etc etc... Drove SWMBO bonkers!! I have yet to see any real improvement for me, so am using Chrome most of the time now.

Opera were another outfit that tweaked for tweaking's sake and then lost their user base.

Just been having a play on chrome. If the quoted post is on the same page it's doing as you describe but if it's on a previous page it does jump to that page and post.

It seems to be the forum, rather than browser which has caused this. It did used to go back to the quoted item if it was on the same page, but stopped doing so a few weeks ago, if I notice something like this I check various browsers, Opera, Chrome, FF & IE all do the same. Most annoying as is the inability to upload more than one picture at a time, for me this went at the same time as the return to quote arrow.

Nothing has changed with the forum settings or software recently

The xenforo version we are currently on is slowly but surely loosing functionality as browsers and devices we view on evolve

I'm sure when we upgrade to xenforo 2 and a much simplified server hosting solution next year flash and browser compatibility will be much better

I was so looking forward to Quantum as it would stop FF hogging so much RAM. Instead if you push it, it just hogs 100% CPU forever.

Using Chrome now and so much quicker.

I didn't find I lost all bookmarks or any functionality with FF upgrade, though I didn't let it "wipe" it clean and start again as it suggested. I did however try running it with a "New Profile" i.e. a blank user rather then customised, as that's what the forums seemed to suggest but I didn't find that helped either.

It's amazing how much RAM browsers seem to need these days.
