Looking at a machine advertised by this firm in Scotland, has anyone had dealings with this firm good, bad or otherwise?

Another thread of the same era, there are more quotes:

basically the tractor is more or less just welded together and never should have been sold, it is scrap. We bought it from Gordon Agri in Scotland and after 2 days it started giving trouble but they will have nothing to do with it!

Gordon Agri tend to buy at Lanark paint up and move on
Not to say that all there tractors are lemons but you can guess why most tractors go to machinery auction

Having seen the prices they are asking for tractors on eBay I'm amazed they even get any enquiries

Think I posted this on the other thread.
Without any prior Knowledge I'd probably buy something of Gordon agri. All the kit seems similar 100hp semi classics generally with loaders. Looks tidy and is always well presented.

Price is largely irrelevant. If something is tidy and well presented you can pretty much ask anything on older gear.
The problem comes when it doesn't work and the customer complains

Well thinking about it that is a fair point, paying a couple of grand too much for a nice tidy well looked after classic is probably actually cheap compared to buying a lemon at what would appear a good price

Still though, it's amazing just how much people value the look of an item over another, there is plenty of stuff out there that is perfectly straight and serviceable and will always be overlooked compared to the sprayed up one.

Presentation is one thing, but it actually is possible to polish a turd.

Agree, lot of people get sucked in with shiney paint
