Trouble is its like all the rest , its trying to be all things to all men, foods too cheap needs to go up, then food will cost too much thats bad for the poor, we need to be more productive but need to be more environmentally friendly, we need to use more fruit and veg but need to be more diverse and grow whats best but improve soil but produce more at home etc etc, Goves speech was much the same every paragraph tends to contradict the previous one

Can't disagree with that. It has all been said before and I agree with much of it, but at the end of the day it's market forces that square the circle.

One day a politician will stand up and say we want the highest welfare standards and highest environmental standards in the world, this costs and as you consummer dont want to pay the extra this costs the government will pay the difference, this is not a farmers subsidy but a consummers subsidy. He will need to duck as the flying pigs go over.

I wonder if any government will have the balls to stand up and say it because that is the truth of the situation
