Hi what do farmers think of the new deer controls being considered . Im involved with a syndicate in the south east who offer free pest control by a team of four only.
We do not let any else use our lands and are none profit making ( that way we are in control with the farmers at all times)
And four are fully insured and licenced and honest.

In the south east it his guys trying to get land as I have been and many others,
Got a new deer perm all cleared and police checked only for owner to give to his posh yuppie mates in London.
Yes others have stacks of land but good luck to them as long as they shoot it.
all ready had my open ticket and land but not much on it but hey ho,

You have got to live close by to make any real impression on numbers and turnout regularly whether it is deer, fox, rabbit or any vermin culling. Someone who lives an hour or more drive away may enjoy the sport and pay some rent but they likely won’t manage the numbers if talking herding fallow or red deer.
Night shooting is going to be pretty indiscriminate and only a winter option.
But most farmers suffering real crop damage want them shot yesterday regardless of any deer act!

They say the south east as a large deer population but people are crying out for perms.
Most have to travel for over a hour away but that does not matter to them when given a chance to shoot.

At the moment could do with fitting a mini gun on the quad, to make a indent into our reds, got two guns here regular, but venison price's still pretty crap, so nobody looking for extra and more farms and land being purchased by London money and don't want or let you have a proper go at them either.

1. Who in their right mind is going to let someone they don't know from Adam come and shoot on their land? It's all right them saying they have insurance but when you would also have to pay for insurance for the possibility of being held liable for permitting the indiscriminate/dangerous shooter/s on to your land why would you? Many ticket holders can talk the talk but very few could come up with a cull plan based on weeks of observations and actually carry it out in a way that makes scientific sense. It's amazing how many guns can pull the trigger on males all day long and then get the heebie-jeebies over shooting young of the year along with their dams or who can be bothered to turn out in January when it is pishing down.
The government might say they want far more deer shot but they sure as heck don't want more civilians with guns. They will try to do as The Sacred Cow up here wants...to have teams of state approved 'marksmen' come in and drive the deer to a kill box and slaughter males, females and young as and when they deem fit, forbid the landowners from filming it on their own land and deny they are indiscriminate.
2. If you could shoot on your own land without fear some anti, vegan, urban, ignorant foxturd would pop out from where they were sh1tt1ng behind a bush 300 yards from a footpath at 6am only for them to verbally/physically attack you a lot more deer would be shot! I'm certain in parts of this country there are more stalks busted by folk with no right to be there than there are successful stalks on any given day.

Got a couple coming here to control deer, one was a policeman till recently so I’m hoping they are ok.seems fine to me.been coming for 6 months walking the land and getting to know everything and had trail cameras up for weeks studying what is going on.they know my rules and any isues they will be gone.cant fault them so far.they are sworn to secrecy too as I understand poachers are rife.

I am a part of a syndicate all are fully insured and also do range shooting plus we all have respect for the land we shoot on. I have my own small perm for over twelve years and allowed to do day /night shooting and take the other guys out so I know they are safe to shoot and will always walk the land first. I have been shooting for over forty years now and the other three do paid shooting with all types of rifles. And ferrets are available .
