Grain maize stubble

What would you do with grain maize stubble going into spring wheat/barley?
the combining has left all of the plant material spread out evenly but it’s to wet to disc in. I think we could probably plough but don’t really want to. I could spin on a cover crop mixture either with a fert spreader or stocks pelleter but is it to late for it to do anything between now and March? Or I could probably get a disc drill to slot a cover crop in.

Leave it, the combine wheelings have probaly smeared the soil if it was at all wet, let the maize debris degrade over winter, cultivate and drill when dry in the spring.
