Between £8- £10 per year all in.........OR you should look at

CENTRAL STORAGE. !!

.................... lol he wants to rent storage not pay to build it it AND then rent it !

let's not go there, we already had the annual TFF central store debate / fight !! each to their own and many seem happy, let discuss something less dividing like Brexit

hi all
What’s the going rate for wheat storage per ton per month ??
Obviously extra for electricity drying and loading.

Can you give some more detail on what you're thinking please? Rent/buy off farm space or build your own. Long or short term investment? Some very different figures quoted above with very different levels of service. Haulage to a store 1/2 hr away in a lorry is going to be circa £6/t before you've loaded in, out, dried, cleaned and looked after it. Cost of money is around £1/t/month. Then you've got to sell it well to recover the cost.

Your right Clive hadn’t reallythough my statement through! Should have said storage for wheat and barley has made investment in storage look cheap this Year!
James

I think for wheat / OSR it pays most years when there is a £1/t carry / month £8 can be recouped by selling selling May move vs Oct into the same market so go June / July movement and you’re in profit anyway

It comes down to that grain storage is far too cheap. We have permission to put another 5000 tonne up but cannot justify on the current charges. I hope that coming out of Europe things change. The raw crop needs to be worth more, we need to be paid more to haul it and more to store it. Oh look a pig just flown past!
We were on £12 per ton back in 2012, found industrial storage far more lucrative since.

I tr kin the ROI was pretty good on our commercial stores - rent paid to build the sheds in circa 5 years so circa 20% and left with a valuable asset, stores porobanly a lot cheaper to build than they are today though and simple flat floors with pedestals nothing fancy

Storing other stuff pays far better though and is zero hassle located where we are so I when we do build more stores it’s unlikley they will get filled with grain

It's funny how you three or four want to be charging more & more and we want to be charging less & less.

We are aiming to be charging under £10 by the 2020 intake.
