I would like to own one of these but would like one that meant I did not have to spend an hour in the grain store testing temperatures - fast reaction would be great.

Any recommendations?

I found this from 2012

I had a grainsafe which was really good as it could be read from a distance. When it broke I couldn’t get parts or a new one.

Have one from Evans and Pearce now. It’s good but does take a while to settle on a temperature.

How about a load of these on poles you can leave in place?
Can move them each time you read , instant temps

@strawturner , do you know if he still sells them?
They were a good idea, I wouldn’t mind some myself. As per the op, waiting for a sinar for the temp takes ages.
I have a feeling Lishman now sell them on his behalf, but will double check, they are pretty good bits of kit to keep an eye on a heap, the barn owl system is the next step up though and very good.

Meat thermometer from Tesco's does the same, the one designed to put in your joint in the oven with the digital readout on the outside .cost about the same I think
