Grammer seat problem

This farmall has a grammer seat and there must be something wrong as when you site on it, it goes right down, there must be some think broken, a gas strut or something. Are they replaceable or easy replaced, the cushions are good, but will need this fixed.

Think it's mechanical, as supposed to have handle to regulate to your weight but it's broken., so can't firm it up.

If it’s the type with 4 springs inside it wares through the aluminium spring holders and they break off. Can’t remember if you can get the part on its own or you have to order the top plate.
The mechanical seats are pretty basic inside, just pop some clip out and pull the skirt down and have a look see what come adrift.

Actually just had a look on Kramp, if it’s the same seat I’m thinking of this is the part you’ll need

However if you’ve got the two spring seat it’s different again. Really you need to take a look inside or get the model.

That’s an air seat, the round knob at the bottom controls it, pull it out to run the compressor and push in to deflate.

We used to repair them years ago with a flat bar and four links of a chain welded on when seperate parts were available!!!

yes it will be chugging along under the seat and hopefully inflating the air bag to raise the seat. If not first check fuse, then electrical plug somewhere behind seat or under the cab mat behind seat where the seat connects to main harness. Dampness and water here corrodes the pins in the connector.

I think @Mur Huwcun has it the wrong way round,you push the round button in to pump the seat up and pull it out to lower the seat

Quite possible , haven’t sat in one for a fair few years!!
