Grammer seat

I put a new grammer maximo dynamic in a tractor a few months ago, now 500 hours on and it’s a lot stiffer than when I first put it in.
should I have lubricated it before I put it in? Is it the gas strut on its way out?
or is this normal after 500 hours? I just expected it to stay as comfortable longer than this, any tips or tricks before I start blaming the seller or stripping it down to investigate?

Not tried that yet tbh, I’ve dried dropping it a bit and pumping it back up but never completely, will it reset?
Push the lever all the way down and wait until it is on the floor, normally it will then automatically restart and pump up to match your weight, you can then use the same lever but with smaller movements to set the height up and down. I have three and they all work like that so unless yours has suffered a catastrophe it should be the same.
