Like many others i suspect, we are looking at a new handling system to match the new grant scheme.
Just thought it would be good if the various manufacturers could post their wares in one place

I have just had a cattle handling system on a grant. Rang local stockist. IAE
chap came out and discussed options an did measureing up. Emailed prices and plans the next week. Bateman chap wouldn't come out, just sent a price over email. Spoke to Rancher and they were very helpful. Emailed prices an plans, also rang to discuss it. Went for IAE in end as cheapest an local stockist gave more discount. It arrived in mid January. Still waiting for a chap to come install it. He was due to come February, Really pee'd off, as dong whole herd test next week.

What grant scheme are you applying for?
Only ever tried for a grant once for concreting and it seemed a hassle meeting someone doing the full farm walk, then filling in the forms only to get turned down
But our cattle handling system is well past its best and i think all these grants are pushing the prices of handling systems up so may aswell try for a grant again

Have applied for the new "Gove" grant.
Need to replace old handling system with a more efficient, safer set up.
6 monthly testing for the forseeable future is going to need an easy working system
capable of at least 100 per hour

Well of course the manufacturers are happy to quote as it is Christmas time for them with these grants pushing the price of cattle handling equipment up , yet the small farmer who just wants a new crush and is below the £3000 grant minimum so a spend of £8000 is having to pay more Not really very helpful:(

I understand the point you're making however I don't think it's necessarily regarded by manufacturers as Christmas time. Some folks are more concerned with getting a grant rather than what they really need, everyone wants a grant compliant quote yesterday, regular customers get tee'd off with even more extended delivery lead times.

Some of the revised delivery times we have been quoted from third party suppliers now are just crazy (4 months +). Wherever we can we try to get even the most complex equipment made and delivered in 4-5 weeks

Bump.
Have applied for race and posh crush.
problem is have only found 1 hyd crush supplier and they havent returned call.
Am i right in thinking that everything applied for has to be purchased, or can we drop the unobtainable bits ?

My reading of the rules was that you had to buy EVERYTHING you had applied for.

Any one heard if they have been successful yet?

Was chatting to a crush manufacturers rep the day they launched the grant. They had a 3mth wait on crushes then so he was bricking it as to how much demand would go up with he grant, he said they would struggle to get some out within the time frame.

Cousin has a Clwydian ....... he's a hard man to please and thinks it is fantastic. His yard is only down the road from me and he's usually an obliging sort if you wanted a look.
