Grass growth (lack of)

Just right here, enough rain to keep things moving but not too much, very warm nights here have made a big difference

Plenty of rain in the past week, grass is building up.
Silage yields were down a little, but we had loads left over due to getting cows out early.

Spring crops have picked up well, even though the rain came a bit late for some of them. They are a bit thin, but heads look good and they are quite tall
Winter wheat has done well.

Can't complain so far, not that there's any point in complaining.

With straw trading on 3 figures Im glad I saved what I could in the spring by turning the cows out early in the dry conditions and can now sell some surplus straw.

Some were chopping straw up here for the first time ever I think. Its normally bloody expensive. Bales lying everywhere this year. Couldnt make it up.

I keep hearing that about up your way.
We chopped a few headlands that are just a nuisance.

Things generally balance out, so we'll not sell too much straw, just enough to help some neighbours out.
