+ Cold winds (too much of)
I think your right, it's the cold winds slowing growth more than lack of moisture. We've had white frosts every morning this week. The grass doesn't know what to do.

What varieties of grass do you grow?I’ve turned my store cattle out but I’ve had sheep on the cow fields...it’s like bell metal but I wouldn’t turn the cows out otherwise it’ll never grow...if it got a drink it would rocket

If you haven't got the ability or knowledge to answer the question professionally then there's no point in discussing it.The green variety
To misquote your dear old Dad, an inch of rain is better then 2cwt of Nitram because it's free.' We have put our N on but we need rain to get the benefit! And to quote dear old dad which i seldom do
"2 cwt of Nitram is as good as an inch of rain "
I found this today.

The docks aren't even growing here. Think when they start to grow spring will be here.Apart from the silage fields or fields not grazed by stock I’ve never known grass growth as slow as this spring
East wind has done more damage then any lack of rainRain (lack of)
If your grass is doing that well what's the issue?I merely started the thread to find out grass growth around the country....it appears I’m not the only one who’s grass is struggling in this current climate
I’m certainly not struggling in general as I’ll probably be silaging a long time before you
I will check on the last lot of seed bags I got and come back to you
You'll be going some to kill clover (assuming you mean white clover) in a grass sward. The docks aren't even growing here. Think when they start to grow spring will be here.
No clover either. Worried we killed it all in backend leaving cows out to long.
Yes. That's what I meant. We had a field undersown last year. When we combined it, was full of chickory and clover. Can't find much of anything at the moment. Grass is there. You'll be going some to kill clover (assuming you mean white clover) in a grass sward.
