Nothing at all here and been the case for weeks. Heat might bring some thunderstorms later in week but who am I kidding we’ll probably miss anything. Don’t think I’ll be making June hay this year. Melton Mowbray. Leics

Still nothing here, no proper rain for almost two months. Long grass in hay fields looks ok to be honest. Spring barley not too bad but increasingly showing Mn deficiency and could do with a really good soaking: as could emerging maize which is out in rows but desperately in need of rain.

Almost every year here seems to be the same now, wet winter then long dry springs with no really good growing weather and none of those April showers that used to get things humming along in late spring. The chances to roll land are increasingly few and far between; too wet in early March, then a fortnight of drying weather when all the sowing has to be done, followed by increasingly hard and unyielding ground that is too dry to roll!

Is it just me or do others feel that every spring seems to be the same story recently?

We are definitely seeing extremes these days....long wet winters or dry ones followed by a wet spring...certainly not the traditional seasons you used to get

Has there been any rain over your way last couple of days? Not even had a ml here yet not far away they have had a days steady rain...never known it like this at this time of year before and forecadt showing another dry month ahead and hot, a bit worrying! Fertilizer just lying on the top, not even washed in last few days when a bit of rain was forecast!

Early Tuesday morning and early Wednesday morning we had a shower on both mornings, didn’t check rain gauge but it’ll of only been a couple of ml each time

Had 24-36hrs of constant steady rain till midday yesterday, 34mm in all, was just what we needed to give things a bit of a lift and get the grass moving again, was starting to get a bit brown before that.
A friend just below lancaster send some pics and he said similar. ..it would be an exaggeration for me to say the becks were in flood but they were over half full and fast flowing.

Ours are the same, had some completely dried up now flowing nicely, might only last a day or two but at least it's got things going for now, and might have just given me the chance to get the roller on!
