can you still get them to feed to cattle? Heard a few talk about how well calves did if you fed them grass nuts before they were turned out as you were getting them use to grass before they were grazing
My cows were not very impressed with the grass nuts though.
Will be getting some RumiPlus from Dengie to try soon hopefully. It's chopped lucerne with the leaves pelletised - High scratch factor and apparently very good and promoting rumination.
A Devon firm called Aylescott Feeds make tonnes and tonnes but most of it goes into horse feeds, they do their own range of cakes, blends and their Youngstock range does still contain them.
This year I've been giving young calves chopped Lucerne from Dengie, the Alfa a horse feed. They seem to really like it and take it before they take nuts. They are out now and the older calves are grazing well at 6 weeks.
As said above, most go into horse feeds or for small pellitizing for bunny feed now, asked our merchant about them a few years ago, and they can no longer buy it to be sold as a straight, it has to go into a ration.
