Grass reseed

Chop, chop, chop ..... at slight angles with each pass. (y)

Of course a brassica break would be the best option, to give it a chance to break down, but I realise it's not always an option. It wouldn't need as good a seedbed this time then.
Let me know if you need the number of a good seed supplier. :)
I'm putting Italian and Hybrid Kale in and some annual clover , I could disc it 4 times but may as well turn it over and do it right

One pass of the discs won't do a lot. 2-3 passes, at speed, will have it looking very different.

Whether a narrow spaced disc drill will cope with much trash at all is the question, I know a tine drill would.
But how much will a tine cope will. I've seen my mate who has one walk away from jobs

How important is it to spray off grassland before planting a brassica break crop?
In my case next I would apply slurry and subsoil/power harrow and direct drill.

It’s not a break crop if the grass is still there surely?:scratchhead:
Organic farmers often use brassicas as a break between grass reseeds, so plough/cultivate then brassica then go back to grass.
Effectively this is what I mean, but just power harrowing rather than plough.
By direct drill, I mean mount the drill straight on the back of the power harrow, and plant directly into the tilth in one pass. More "min-till" than "direct drill" I suppose.
Obviously it's unusual not to spray off if you can. Hence the question.

Watch the drilling depth if you do that

This one pleased me the most being a mid term mix of Festulolium and Ryegrass
Its not brilliant but its given me confidence that if I had gone in a Month earlier in the warmer weather then results would have been well worth the effort
