Does anyone have a knowledgeable person they buy grass seed from. Preferably someone that has a clue about grazing and silaging making. The previous man we used has retired and I am not keen on his replacement.

Try speaking to Chris Martindale at Lloyd’s Oswestry. He’s not a grass seed specialist but has a wealth of overall knowledge.
Cut his teeth with ICI in the good old days.
No nonsense practical advice 😉

Now you've opened a can of worms, more grass salesmen on here than farmers 😂

We use green farm seeds, I think they're in Gloucestershire, Mark comes and sees how we are getting on every 6 months normally, wealth of knowledge with all of them, really helpful and willing to try new things and tell you the truth on what does and doesn't work

I've had quite a bit from field options over the years. There are a few very knowledgeable people there but twice now I've ordered summer brassica seeds in March and they haven't arrived until June. It won't be happening a third time.

They’ve always been really good with deliveries and tailor grass mixes to suit our organic system which have twice out preformed a like for like mix supplied from another firm already mentioned on this thread.
