I'm thinking of putting a air seeder on set of rollex ring rollers, anyone had any experience of using anything like this. Good or just a mad bad idea?

I do it this way:

First pass with grass harrows, then second one at an angle with the rolls.

You obviously get on fine with it but I get concerned that the seed isn't covered enough to cope with a dry spell. We trickle behind a power harrow and am considering Some kind of mat to scratch it over behind.

Years ago, we used to sow all grass with a seed box mounted on the back of a Cambridge roll, as did many others. We used to run a set of zig-zag harrows afterwards, then roll again iirc (it was a very long time ago).
An air seeder would just be a modern version of that, so would work just like the seed box did.

Sowed many, many acres with a stocks seeder box mounted on the front of a 9ft Cambridge roll back in the early 2000’s. It all came up! I had a few acres fail last autumn with my current set up of a stocks Wizard on my grass harrows, probably due to seedbed not being firm enough

Which would you say is better roller or harrow?
