Grass silage deficiency

What do you all think is happening with our grass silage?

We took a herbage sample back in March pre. slurry application and were advised that sulphur levels were high in the soil so no need for bagged S.

The slurry applications easily covered potash requirements and we spread TSP variable rate in any deficient areas.

Weather has been reasonable of late but still cold at night. We had sub zero temperatures one night last week which was frosty. Local data would suggest that soil temperatures are around 8.5 celcius at the minute but could lower temperatures prohibit the the potash from being available in sufficient quantities to meet current crop requirements?

The grass as a whole is perhaps a lighter green than we would expect at this time of year, despite the fact that it has got all the fertiliser it needs. Hoping to see an improvement with warmer weather this weekend.

Any thoughts?

If it's any comfort, the silage fields here aren't just quite the right colour either, viewed from over the hedge. It'll be the tips burned. The top leaves of the docks are noticeably red or purple.
