Surely that can be the only explaination :scratchhead:

......but how do they sqaure it with their customer who has a stack of bales in his yard and a field which should have been mowed that still has standing grass??
The contactor should cut the field he was supossed to be in free of charge. Farmer who ended up losing his field to bales should have them returned to his farm. And depending on field size difference and what bales were to a acre then the difference added. Not just the contractors fault though, if he was not given field sizes, good directions etc then it will happen. So maybe the farmer should of explained it better. Been there, etc. . Lots of possible senario's

I heard recently a farmer sent his son to drive wheat off the combine.
Along the road a bit, he saw a lexion so pulled into the field and got a load away home.
Not sure how long this went on, but eventually the father got an angry call from his combine driver asking why he had had no trailers all afternoon.
I heard a similar story a few years ago about potato harvesting and a random tractor/ trailer taking loads away .
because they used all sorts of help, no one questioned who he was 😂

It happens
Night shift swathing rape, farmer turns up in the morning with a tank full of round up and his rape has been swathed!
Contractor came to ted my grass, did the neighbours and left mine!
Yeah, it does.
A contractor got instructions to burn a field of tates off with acid....
"Go along Trentside and it's the first field under the motorway bridge."

....trouble was, he came from the other direction and burnt off next doors tates

There’s no one worse than farmers for assuming that contractor know which are their fields and for giving crap directions aswell!

Yep it happens, I saw it next door a couple of years ago, luckily the field was spotted before it was put in the clamp and could be baled and wrapped as planned, only person who lost out was the other contractor who lost out on 15 ha of mowing, baling and wrapping !

When we took on a new farm, there was masses of new fencing that needed doing, and the previous tenant had ran to farms the touched each other all as one ranch. We walked and gave a map to a fencing contractor to do our boundary, he accidentally fenced the outside of a 7 acre feild on the neighbors feild! With stock fence + barb. Expensive cock up for all of us, but life goes on.
