Sadly I only know a very few species of grass and the meadows I have which I understand have not been reseeded in living memory. I have only be in residence for a year and looking for ideas of the best means to identify the grasses that I have, before any decision is taken to improve the productivity of what I have.
Is there an App to be able to use ideas please. Small Jersey farm from 1954 to 2000 and odds and sods grazing and Hay for the next 10 years. last 10 years Hay and sheep grazed.
In North Hertfordshire Post code SG9 0RG
I am confident one is Meadow foxtail.

In my opinion it is a lot easier to identify most species once they've gone to seed. You can tell what they are from just the leaf but it takes a while to learn all the differences and is a lot of information to take in. I only know the grasses that I have here and just learnt to identify them using google images and comparing.
