Grazing Corn - Coastal?

I am toying with the idea of setting up 8 acres on 21" spacings and sowing corn late summer...and sow with some lucerne and deeper sown oats maybe or clovers etc...

This will be utilized early winter for young dairy steer calves, let all other pastures kick on and get some decent growth...

i think it would be a good moix of energy and protein with some roughage

Im worried how black the corn will turn?

Anyone do this?

I’m also interested in grazing corn, have read a bit about it in the states both grazing corn residue and planting solely for sheep grazing in midwinter. For myself I’d like to have a go at late spring sown, for autumn/early winter use by lambs, or ewes at tupping to build a grass wedge. Or potentially winter use but depends how wet the winter is.
