Anyone grazed some very forward osr with sheep before?
Haven’t done yet but will be doing this year. There is a field locally with some sheep on. Must be 50ac and about 100 sheep with free roam, looks pointless to me doing it like that. I’ll be block grazing mine, will have to be on the ball to make sure they don’t poach it

actually best way if its a crop for harvesting , light touch will only take off excess crop ,fungus and weeds , block grazed like fodder rape will encourage poaching and overgrazing around trees etc ,

Nice if it works. Being able to shift that amount of sheep at quick notice must surely have a hassle cost that the field owner will pay for ?
I’m not paying for it, but do get 250 acres of (poor) cover crops to graze after for nothing. I’m grazing one end of the farm and someone else is at the other, the middle is being topped to see who or what does a better job. The manager seems to think the flea beetle are in the leaf and the sheep will eat them out🤔.

I’d be asking for the haulage paid at the very least. I see the benefits of getting some cheap chew, but it would hopefully make them appreciate your efforts a bit more .
But hey , getting 500 or so sheep off your own grazing, even for a short while , can’t be too bad !👍
