Grease Guns - I hate them !

How does everyone deal with a grease gun - I am sick of ending up being covered in grease and wearing the slimey stuff which then transfers to other items of clothing and the interior of tractor cabs.

The problem always seems to occur when changing cartridges - I end up covered, the gun ends up covered, rags end up covered, so do my gloves and it goes everywhere - do I need a different type of grease gun or is it just me ?

Go to Glyn Thomas Mathry and get a Fuchs with screw in cartridge's,I've had mine nearly two years,it's bloody great, would never go back to the ones with plungers..(y)

Fuchs grease guns only go up to about 5000psi. The normal grease guns we have go up to 10000psi - I wouldnt change on this basis. Alemite are good, Spaldings and Samoa are reasonable too. You need a claw hammer to get the cartridges out of the spaldings ones but they slip out really easy no mess at all, they can be a pain with out the claw hammer though.
