Grease guns

Now then, I know there has been grease going n threads on here before but…….. quite often when I pick up a grease gun here it’s empty, so my question is how come they seem to be empty on the last nipple for other people but me? And does this strange phenomenon only occur here

You’re not a stockman are you? Never find the grease gun empty on a stock farm.👍

The Fuchs Reiner system guns so easy to change cartridge and no mess, an empty gun is no problem, just screw a fresh one in, been using system for the last 17 yrs, never a problem. and with a g-coupler end on the flex pipe even better.

I have a Lube Shuttle, bought after rave reviews on a TFF thread several years ago, and it’s so much easier to change cartridges without getting covered in grease.
After 5 years or so, my G Coupler failed a couple of weeks ago, so I grabbed the old ‘normal’ gun to finish up. It was a useful reminder as to why I bought the Lube Shuttle, and I went and bought a new G Coupler to get it going straight away.

Which reminds me, I’ve had it five years and my grease cartridge is nearly empty. Where’s the cheapest place to buy them?

Lube shuttle or fuchs? I’m going to get a fuchs tomorrow - still on the old crappy type cartridges at the moment but always had Fuchs in other jobs, LZR screw on cartridges for £2/ cartridge that fit on the fuchs.

Had a few G-Couplers and never found them that good, quite a few nipples on the old combine and beet harvester I had you couldn’t get to with the G-Coupler as it was so clumbersome, when it broke we didn’t replace but Sparex bought one out which had a quick release end similar to those sprung disc pto shafts, it was as small as a standard grease coupler so fitted everywhere 👍🏻

Mine’s a Lube Shuttle, but similar system iirc, although incompatible cartridges of course.

I looked for one of those couplers recently, for a couple of stupidly placed nipples on the Merlo, but nobody had them in stock locally.

Got 4 here.one with straight pipe, one with 90 degrees reel pipe, one with long flexing hose and one with short fkexi hose with locking fitting on end.allways take 2 when crawling about under machines.and the alemite is the best by miles.
nick...
I agree with Alemite being the best. We have got two pistol grips. Best grease gun I've used. I will get one of their cordless ones at some point.

i have a fuchs that manages to air l;ock
has bean 1 pump away from being fired over the hedge
not the golden answer
If you store the cartridges upright, and push a bit of grease out of screw end just before fitting to gun. It stops airlocks. I do this and never had airlock.

2nd vote for Lubeshuttle.
Ordinary cartridges are designed purposely to get you plastered, the ring pull flicks a lump onto your shirt as it breaks free, even before you touch the bloody gun...
