Grease on MFWD U joints

Some of our John Deere's have grease nipples on the front wheel drive UJ's and some don't. Thought they must be sealed for life but in the manual,of our 7830 for example, it says remove plug and screw in a grease nipple every 250 hours. Never have in 2000hrs does anybody else?

Some kingpins have nipples some don't as well!

I only realised this when the knuckles went on one of our 7930s after 7000 hours & the dealer fitter told us about them! We do them every oil change now. There's a plug you unscrew or pull out then you screw in a nipple to grease them. They are in the centre of the knuckle & you need an extra person to move the tractor until it is exposed.

All our kingpins on the front axle have nipples but they vary according to which side you are looking at. The left hand side has the Autotrac steering sensor on it so the nipple is different.
