Great article in The Times

What time line have you got to clear or is it all still subject to the rewild getting the green light , will you be able to lamb the ewes down ?
Depends how hard I fight. They want them all gone today. Just stuck 500 on a lorry elsewhere. Fighting to try to lamb them here....... got it in writing but I’ve learnt that’s a bit meaningless. Although the last time this happened (6 months into a ten year tenancy they sold that farm for horse paddocks and broke it up into a dozen chunks) I did manage to fight them legally. That was costly and stressful and I still ended up kicked out my house before Xmas and all my sheep homeless before lambing. Of course the house and ground sat empty for months but it was so important to get the nasty farmer out 😂

Doesn't the UK have net negative migration?

UK death rate now exceeding birth rate for first time in 40 years

By 2025 there will be more deaths than births, leaving net migration as the only factor that raises the number of people living in the UK.

The science is all out there. Our problem is this: When the NFU or AHDB are attacked, about anything, their default mode is to apologize. It is all we ever do. We apologize, we accept that we are at fault, we promise to try harder to be good. It isn't what I pay subs and levies for. I want my representative bodies to use the science that is in our favour and attack, attack, attack.
Let's see it then.

Probably lot more positive than figures show.
Unless they changed it, they only count the ppl coming in, they assume they leave when they say they were going to.
Its why UK population is most likely a few million over what the official figures say.
77million

The conservatives in the 80’s were proper conservatives. Under Cameron they shifted to the centre ground. Now under Boris they’ve gone centre left.
I dont think left , right or proper come into it , its more the americanisation of politics - buying votes regardless of facts, commonsense and costs to minorities , eg whats left or right about badgers and tb ? or holidays in lock down ?

@CopperBeech I am very sorry to learn of your situation.
Have you thought about contacting Countryfile?

I know it's a crap programme but this week I've had an email from a group I am in, asking about the effect of ELMS etc & how to contact them with regard to the changes.

It's obviously affected you, completely unfairly when your methods are what England's ag can gain from

Please PM me if I can help with the contact to Countryfile.

This is all a consequence of Brexit. If UK had remained in the EU the UK would still be tucked up nicely in the CAP. While the CAP will and is moving towards more environmental outcomes the change would not be as radical as that being rolled out now by the Brexit Conservative Party.

@CopperBeech sorry to read about your situation, its a real kick in the nuts after all your hard work.
Too many non farming landowners in the UK and too many other ways that they can make money from the land, other than farming. I guess if there's more money in something else it makes sense to take it. It sucks when the only reason they have land is because they inherited off daddy though.
Tractor driver, tenant farmer, contract farmer, farm manager, they're all the same really, just employees of the land owner, its just the way they're "paid" that varies.

Can't even believe as a country we have got to the point where the gov are encouraging the place to go to s##t wtf is that all about its just mental , import food and let your own ground go to rack n ruin :banghead:
its about money going to money and votes , this supposedly happened in the 1930s but no one got state income from it to displace others -its immoral .
